Premieres 2014

Well, another Hunter Douglas Premieres is in the books.  The Fashion Show for the Window Covering Industry was held in Austin today, along with the Installer's breakfast.  Gloria, Mary , Ken and I attended and were thrilled to see all the new products, and lift systems now available.  Ken also learned some shortcuts and learned about adjusting, and installing all those great new products!

We got the crew together last week for a staff photo, and here it is!

Voted Best Interior Decorating Shop in Marble Falls!

The results are in, and we were honored to receive votes proclaiming us the best interior decorating shop in Marble Falls/Highland Lakes area by the Highlander Newspaper.  Our rep, Sally McBryde is coming today for photos of the staff… I'll try to get a copy to post here soon…

Thank You, Marble Falls!!

Back to Reality!

We returned from our Hunter Douglas cruise to the Caribbean Islands of Puerto Rico, St Kitts and St Maarten, and our Pergola is complete.  We even added a little Bar/Shelf for a place to put drinks, maybe a flower or two. Now I must get that fabric ordered for the drapes.  We have installed the exterior Screen Shade for function, now some drapery for softness, and additional privacy.

While I was away, folks seem to be waking up and needing window coverings.,  Some orders were placed last week in my absence, and two calls yesterday resulted in two new orders for Hunter Douglas window coverings.  Its going to be a good week, now if I can just finish unpacking for my next round of family/company beginning in just two days….

Our latest home transformation project also sold and closed while I was gone…. hmmm.  what to do next???   Stay Tuned….

Pergola Project: We're almost there.... Tile, drapes and screen shade next...

Pergola Project: And then there was Light!

Day 7 and the weather was perfect for finishing up the Lighting and Fan installation on our pergola. It looks amazing, and should be finished just in time for the beautiful spring weather.  Our fine crew even provided me with a remote control for the lighting and the fan!  Sunbrella Fabric has been selected for the drapery, and a screen shade is waiting to be installed.  Now for the workroom crew to get in gear as soon as the fabric is received, and get those drapes made. Because I LOVE drapes! And I found the perfect tile tonight from my longtime vendor, T & L Distributing in Austin...

This flirting with spring weather must have everyone in a remodeling mood.  I visited with one of my previous clients yesterday, they have bought a new lake house. They  plan on doing new window coverings (of course) with motorized Roman shades so they can enjoy the view of the lake with the touch of a button.  A new lighter shade of paint will bring this 70's house in to this century, and my wonderful crew is ready to help.

Today I visited another client who is interested in doing a kitchen refresh, replacing the Formica countertops with granite , new farmhouse sink and tumbled stone backsplash to coordinate with a recently remodeled Limestone fireplace surround.  Brushed nickel faucets, and a new range will complete this new look.

Pergola Project and Record Breaking cold Weather!

Well, we were blessed with 3 days of 80+ weather in order to get the pergola framing done. Then Titan hit, and we are now in freezing temps for a few days.  It looks like a pergola now, but lacking the finishing touches.  We purchased the wiring, etc for the lighting and fans today, and they ran part of it, attaching to the sides of the structure, but it was just too cold! Hope to finish tomorrow with this phase, and I have tentatively picked the fabric for the drapery.  We are going to add some bench/bar dividers, so cool, to personalize it.

We plan to offer Pergola Packages to our clients, using this one as a model for pricing, materials, etc.  My crew does awesome work , I am so proud.   Stay tuned....

Pergola project

Today, Saturday was day three of our project.  Our crew completed the construction , and cleanup!  We purchased the lighting., which consists of Edison style string lighting, white of course, and some oil rubbed bronze post lights.  An oil rubbed bronze ceiling fan sports a remote control,  and dimmer switch for the lights.

Monday the lighting will be installed , barring rain (60% chance.) and hopefully the fan.  We are still looking for just the right tile for the floor, so it may be a week or two before that is complete. I have an outdoor shade for the back side, and looking at Sunbrella fabric for some drapery.

Stay tuned .......photos to follow
