Pat's Picks

For those that didn't tour the Duvall Parade Home on Rain Dance in HSB, Hope you can enjoy some of our pictures. We had to come up with some creative window ideas as you can see. People were referring to it as the "Art House", hopefully from our artistic endeavors as well as the wonderfull Hill Country art prints of local scences and lavish faux leather pillows trimmed with tassles and beads. Drawing upon all of our resources, window designs, custom furniture, and accessories, gave us a lot of personal pride and enjoyment hearing the nice complements. Thank You from all of us.

I'm excited, I've just installed 2 new products. One being the Odysee shade, which is a pleated cell shade that splits like a blind. The cell constuction saves on energy and the best part is it splits like a blind giving various degrees of privacy. I took pictures of different positions of closure, hope you can see.

The next new product is from Hunter Douglas. The "Cadence" soft vertical. This is not your run of the mill vertical, looks like drapery with the carefree maintenence of a vertical. You can choose co-ordinating fabric allowing us to create a top treatment for your window, or the double tiered matching topper. Those of you that have slider doors or like the features of a vertical, let me show you a really good looking product. That's all from Pat's Picks this month, see you next month with some problem solvers.

Dawn's Musings

I've been helping a lovely client of mine in Horseshoe Bay West with her upstairs guest windows. We wanted to take advantage of the wonderful views of Lake LBJ and the golf course
as her house is situated on both. I think the grey green bedroom is invigorating with crisp
white linens and splashes of spring green. The combination of colors is unexpected but works very well. In the other bedroom everything is very calming and soothing with tone on tone
creams, ivorys and whites against a background of the same spring green, which really tones down the green and give it a very sophisticated look. We also installed some beautiful Polynesian style shutters outside on the front of the house and they give the house a great relaxed Floridian feel.

My favorite are the interior shutters, nice crisp white with wide louvers - they accent the trim and make all the colors in the house come to life. It is a real pleasure working with such a fun client who likes to experiment with color.

Until next time.......
