Almost there....

Well, we are almost ready to move to our new store in Marble Falls, Texas. The stucco was finished, around the front entry at least., on Saturday.

Monday, we start moving the furniture displays and samples. The fans and lights were hung with care, in hope that we will soon be there (in time for Christmas Day)

Now for the fun part , decorating. So, for the next few weeks, that is what we will be doing, But, at least, our doors will be open!

Meanwhile, the project house in Highland Haven is coming along nicely. Our tile, wood and flooring installers have gone above and beyond putting a special touch on it, for just the right person. Next , we will add our finishing touches, shutter blinds, a bit of staging, and it will be ready for marketing , a lake house just ready for funl

Falls Design Center Marble Falls

Well, we are almost ready to move to our new location in Marble Falls. For 2 months, we have watched the transformation of our great new space. We started moving displays in on Saturday, with the help of our great new partners Sue & Larry with S & D Cabinets. The fun begins now, putting it all together. We will be sharing the space with S & D, and we are so excited to see the craftsmanship they put into their products.

Our showroom, in the new Falls Design Center, will include room vignettes of our furniture, kitchen, media entertainment centers by S & D, and so many things to come. Unique window treatments, different types of flooring, technology surprises are a few of the things we will offer.

We are so excited, our ribbon cutting is October 22, but that is only the beginning. We will be adding the latest and greatest, so come soon, and visit often!

Pat's Picks

This month we toured Vasa Window Coverings in Austin, a premier showroom of inovative, fashion-forward custom window treatments. Their emphasis is on roller shades, sunscreens, and motorized products.

Our decorating team learned about integrating motorization that doesn't require an electrican by using a battery pack or low voltage systems that use a remote control. This is a new lifestyle. Now you can enjoy the ease and beauty of motorization. You can count on us to work with you and the most knowledgable window covering professionals to price out that first motorized project. We can create custom made roman shades with motorization in our own workroom also.

Call us to see what we can do for you!

What is new? Lots of things...

Well, work has finally started on our new showroom in Marble Falls, and we are so excited. Drywall went up this week, paint starts Saturday (now for the fun part!) New walls, windows, doors and then we get to putting our new look together! A soft Latte color by Sherwin Williams on the walls, lots of vignettes for window treatments, kitchen cabinets by S & D , as well as entertainment centers, furniture. It will be a work in progress, but we hope to be operational by the end of August. We have an open house/ribbon cutting tentatively scheduled for the third week of October, that should give us plenty of time for those finishing touches.

We are moving right down Broadway from our Main Street location in Marble Falls. The new showroom will be at 1401 Broadway, (c0rner of Broadway and Ave N, next to Broadway Showroom). Look for the Banners, and watch our progress!

Meanwhile, we are still operational, at our Burnet location, on the web, and by appointment in your home or business. We are always available at your convenience. At our new location, we will have the ability to show more product, and lots of cool new surprises! See you soon,

Teresa

How many 100+ degree days??

Well, summer started early this year, and after a few weeks of 100+ degrees, it really doesn't matter any more, does it? If the a/c is working, and our energy efficient window coverings are in place, all is well. An occasional weekend at the lake helps too, doesn't it?

Our Hunter Douglas energy efficient sale with rebates is going strong. The Architella, the most efficient shades, are just beautiful. Great colors, and the fabric is awesome.

An unprotected window, especially with a western exposure, can raise the temperature in a room as much as 15 degrees. That means the air conditioner runs constantly, and still will not cool sufficiently. We have been going back and covering a lot of arch windows this year, where previously the home owner had left them open, just covering the bottom portion of the window. But with the extremes of heat and temperature, they have now decided to cover them with Highlites. A Highlite is an arch shutter with either operable sunburst slats, or a solar screen shade in the openings. Please check out the website for further info.

Hunter Douglas also has an operable Duette that is very cool. It raises and lowers just like the shade below. This is a new product, we have installed one on a huge 6 ft wide arch over a rectangular Duette. Client was happy, we were all amazed at how it worked, and how much of the morning sun it blocked!

From the workroom, roman shades and drapery seem to be the order of the day. We are working on quotes for motorized roman shades (that will be great fun!), and lots of pleated drapery on decorative poles and under cornices.

We have a great new line of drapery Hardware, Select. Great Price points, but more selection on colors and finials than the other value lines. Call us for details!

That is all for now, until next time.....

Happy Independence Day!

What a great week! Despite the hot weather, everyone is still gearing up for summer vacation. We have installed drapery for sun control, lots of solar screen shades to keep out the sun but still enjoy the view, and next week will be doing shutters to complete an awesome job in Escondido, Horseshoe Bay we have been working on for a few months. I will get pictures and post to our website when it is complete.

I hope everyone is enjoying our email newsletters, with decorating tips and discounts on relevant, energy saving products. We also delivered and set up a conversational sofa this week, it is a slightly curved sofa , and it is perfect where you would like a sectional, but don't have the room. Pictures were posted to the site earlier this week.

Please let us know if there is anything else you would like to see us add to our website, or blog. Have a Great Independence Day, be safe, and look for our email newsletter in your inbox on Friday.

Pat's Picks

For those that didn't tour the Duvall Parade Home on Rain Dance in HSB, Hope you can enjoy some of our pictures. We had to come up with some creative window ideas as you can see. People were referring to it as the "Art House", hopefully from our artistic endeavors as well as the wonderfull Hill Country art prints of local scences and lavish faux leather pillows trimmed with tassles and beads. Drawing upon all of our resources, window designs, custom furniture, and accessories, gave us a lot of personal pride and enjoyment hearing the nice complements. Thank You from all of us.

I'm excited, I've just installed 2 new products. One being the Odysee shade, which is a pleated cell shade that splits like a blind. The cell constuction saves on energy and the best part is it splits like a blind giving various degrees of privacy. I took pictures of different positions of closure, hope you can see.

The next new product is from Hunter Douglas. The "Cadence" soft vertical. This is not your run of the mill vertical, looks like drapery with the carefree maintenence of a vertical. You can choose co-ordinating fabric allowing us to create a top treatment for your window, or the double tiered matching topper. Those of you that have slider doors or like the features of a vertical, let me show you a really good looking product. That's all from Pat's Picks this month, see you next month with some problem solvers.

Dawn's Musings

I've been helping a lovely client of mine in Horseshoe Bay West with her upstairs guest windows. We wanted to take advantage of the wonderful views of Lake LBJ and the golf course
as her house is situated on both. I think the grey green bedroom is invigorating with crisp
white linens and splashes of spring green. The combination of colors is unexpected but works very well. In the other bedroom everything is very calming and soothing with tone on tone
creams, ivorys and whites against a background of the same spring green, which really tones down the green and give it a very sophisticated look. We also installed some beautiful Polynesian style shutters outside on the front of the house and they give the house a great relaxed Floridian feel.

My favorite are the interior shutters, nice crisp white with wide louvers - they accent the trim and make all the colors in the house come to life. It is a real pleasure working with such a fun client who likes to experiment with color.

Until next time.......

Parade Home Tour and Memorial Day

Well, our first weekend at the Parade was a great Holiday weekend. A light, much needed rain shower visited the Doug Holley home both days, but we still got to see lots of folks, old friends and new. Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous view of the Marble Falls countryside, it was beautiful in the sun, and when the clouds covered the hills, it was quite another, beautiful view. On to the Duvall home in Horseshoe Bay, there was a steady stream of visitors to enjoy the beautiful home, our finished product and the artwork of Lynwood Bennett which graced the walls and certainly gave great definition to this Parade entry.

These home tours are alot of work but we truly enjoy getting to furnish and decorate them, and then meet and greet the folks who come out to see.

Next weekend, the last week in May, will be the final week. After a relaxing Memorial Day at home, we can't wait .

We motorize your world! Hunter Douglas, etc

Dave just returned from Houston, where he attended the Hunter Douglas Certified Professional Installer training. He got to see all the new products, and a full class on Hunter Douglas Motorization. This is definitely the wave of the future, they discussed how your window coverings can be seamlessly integrated with your home entertainment system, security system, etc. The energy savings alone, over the life of the system, will be a huge savings when your window coverings go down when the sun is hot, lights turn off when there is no one in the room, etc. These are exciting times, and we are happy to be able to help our clients learn the features and benefits of motorization, whether it is one hard to reach window, with a battery operated remote, or a full house of hard wired treatments.

Next week, our staff will be attending the new Hunter Douglas Premieres, and previewing all the new products. The Stop the Great Energy Giveaway ends April 30, so there is still time to get the rebates, and save energy. So far, our clients have received, or will receive, over 2000.00 in rebates, and have lovely , energy saving window coverings.

Our email newsletter just went out this week, if you know someone who would like to sign up for the decorating tips and money saving coupons, just email us their address, and we will get them on the list.

Happy Easter to all!

News and Views for April

This week, our entire staff and installation crew completed the Somfy Expert training in window covering motorization. We will have samples of the motorization, and our workroom is making a motorized roman shade ! This is such a wonderful upgrade to your window coverings, one that you will enjoy for years to come, every time you raise and lower your window treatments. The Somfy trainer was excellent, great fun and learning was had by all!

The BIA Parade Home Tour plans are finalized for the last 2 weekends in May, including the Memorial Day Holiday. 21, that's right, 21 homes will be on the tour, but in various stages of construction this time. So, something will be available for everyone. We will be working on a home in Horseshoe Bay,... more details to come....

Spring Cleaning, and more.

Wow! Lots of new things going on this week. We have made alot of progress toward updating our Marble Falls and Burnet showrooms. New displays, etc. are going up almost daily.

Our shutter supplier is making some arch top shutter samples for those hard to fit windows, arches and eyebrows, they are beautiful and we will be glad to have a sample in hand to show. And, now available, shutters combined with our beautiful Tableaux faux wrought iron. The privacy of a shutter, topped with the light diffusing look of wrought iron in lots of colors, patterns and shapes! Samples, and pictures, will be here very soon. I can hardly wait! At last, we have lots of new options for those lovely, but hard to dress, specialty shaped windows.

A new project we will be working on is, an existing home with pine floors in need of refinishing. We will have our wood flooring guy sand, prime and paint this original wood floor to fit the clients decor. It will be a fun, and unique project.

We posted new photos in the picture gallery today some stationery panels with attached valance and bullion fringe trim. I installed some 217" long, gorgeous striped stationery panels on a 2" wood poles over motorized shutter blinds yesterday, but no pictures yet. I will try to get some next week, when I return for a few adjustments.

The BIA of the Highland Lakes Parade Home Tour is coming up soon, we will be working on that for a May completion date. It will be awesome this year, more to come.....

Fabulous February

Our great Hunter Douglas sales representative, Stephanie, met with our sales staff on Tuesday and went over the new promotions offered. It is called the "Stop the Great Energy Giveaway", and runs through April 30. It is focused on saving energy through efficient window coverings. The new Duette Architella shades have an energy savings rating of 7.85, almost double the regular cellular shades. Very cool, (or warm, as it were). Rebates of $50 up to $150 per window make this one of the best sales ever! Focus is also on "Green", as all the HD products are Greenguard certified. Our clients that visit or call our stores during this promotion will get lots of information on saving energy, we have free brochures for all.

My first post

Today, I started my blog to tell folks about the goings on at CC&I. The holidays are behind us, with the customary rush to help decorate our clients homes for the holidays. We always feel like elves that time of year.

Now, we are working on wood shutters for a new home as well as drapery panels and woven wood roman shades. Our new Provenance Woven wood book has so many cool patterns, I have used it on one job, and can't wait to use it on the next job, a lake house done on a very nautical theme, lots of glass tile and marble, the grasses of the Provenance collection will be a perfect accent!
