How many 100+ degree days??

Well, summer started early this year, and after a few weeks of 100+ degrees, it really doesn't matter any more, does it? If the a/c is working, and our energy efficient window coverings are in place, all is well. An occasional weekend at the lake helps too, doesn't it?

Our Hunter Douglas energy efficient sale with rebates is going strong. The Architella, the most efficient shades, are just beautiful. Great colors, and the fabric is awesome.

An unprotected window, especially with a western exposure, can raise the temperature in a room as much as 15 degrees. That means the air conditioner runs constantly, and still will not cool sufficiently. We have been going back and covering a lot of arch windows this year, where previously the home owner had left them open, just covering the bottom portion of the window. But with the extremes of heat and temperature, they have now decided to cover them with Highlites. A Highlite is an arch shutter with either operable sunburst slats, or a solar screen shade in the openings. Please check out the website for further info.

Hunter Douglas also has an operable Duette that is very cool. It raises and lowers just like the shade below. This is a new product, we have installed one on a huge 6 ft wide arch over a rectangular Duette. Client was happy, we were all amazed at how it worked, and how much of the morning sun it blocked!

From the workroom, roman shades and drapery seem to be the order of the day. We are working on quotes for motorized roman shades (that will be great fun!), and lots of pleated drapery on decorative poles and under cornices.

We have a great new line of drapery Hardware, Select. Great Price points, but more selection on colors and finials than the other value lines. Call us for details!

That is all for now, until next time.....
