1890s restored B&B

Yesterday we installed beautiful suede cornices and drapery in a 1940 home in Lometa Texas.  Texas style . Nailhead trim and contrasting suede trim as well as denim trim on navy suede accentuate the beautiful quilts in the bedrooms .

Our Hll Country tour continued today when we visited an 1890s beautifully restored two story home turned B&B in Llano.  Our friend John Hallowell ! A well known newspaper and magazine editor was there writing a story on the home for the ribbon cutting next week,  stay tuned .. Highland Lakes Is the newest publication of  John's, check it out.  Traditional gathered drapery puddle on the beautiful original wood floors and gathered panels afford privacy in the transoms over the bedroom doors.  The history of transoms were operational windows above the doors before the days of air conditioning so that doors to bedrooms could be closed and transom windows opened  for air circulation. Gathered panels with rods at top and bottom on the lovely French doors are the perfect complement to the bedrooms while providing privacy for guests.
